چکیده

The purpose of this study is to characterize the indoor and indoor-outdoor propagation in different scenarios, using monopole antennas working at 410 MHz and 890 MHz. Propagation of narrow band and wide bands have been studied. In scenarios with a continuous variation of the distance between the transmitter and receiver antenna (1 D scenarios), we use a log-distance path loss model to determine the equations that describe the mean value of the path loss. In scenarios where the position of the receiver is not a uniform function of the distance between the transmitter and the receiver, we represent the basic propagation gain as a function of the measurement point index. Results show that the indoor propagation gain can be described using two slopes propagation model. For the multiwall attenuation loss it is shown that each wall has an attenuation of almost 2.5 dB at 410 MHz increasing to almost 4 dB at 890 MHz. The obstruction gain (loss) due to human beings shows that this can be within a 40 dB interval.

Path Loss Modeling for Near-ground Vhf Radio-wave Propagation through Forests with Tree-canopy Reflection Effect

This paper presents a new methodology to model the nearground short-range propagation loss in forested areas at the VHF and the UHF band. The path loss modeling is performed by an integration of the foliage induced effect and the effect from the radiowave reflection/reflections. The analysis shows that the reflection from the dense tree canopy is important for short-range propagation at the VHF...

Measurements and Modeling of Path Loss over Irregular Terrain for Near-Ground and Short-Range Communications

In this paper, radio wave propagation over irregular terrain is investigated in 200–600MHz (VHF/UHF band). Measured results are compared with different path loss models such as Fresnel knife edge diffraction and uniform theory of diffraction (UTD). It is shown that, for low antenna heights, using a combination of the two-ray path loss model and knife-edge diffraction, great improvement in path ...

Indoor propagation measurements for radiating cable in the UHF band 800MHz - 2500 MHz

This paper presents indoor propagation measurements for a radiating cable in the UHF band, from 800 MHz to 2.5 GHz, in order to analyse the behaviour of such device for the integration of various wireless technologies. The measurements showed a different behaviour in the received power in contrast with a particular propagation model of radiating cables, which was reported in the literature. The...

A Parametric Foliage Path-Loss Model

Estimation of coherent and incoherent radio frequency (RF) signal attenuation through foliage is of great importance for a number of radar and communication problems. At UHF band and higher frequencies foliage presents a complex environment for electromagnetic waves in terms of scattering and wave propagation. For most applications, dealing with complex foliage models that account for single an...
